About Active Journeys

We believe every young person deserves the chance to succeed — regardless of the challenges they face.

Our Mission

Active Journeys is an inclusive Alternative Education Provision supporting children and young people from age 8 across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4. We support young people with SEND, SEMH needs, medical needs, reintegration placements, and full-time Alternative Provision. We also welcome elective home educated children.

Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where students can rebuild confidence, develop life skills, and experience success.

We combine education, sport, outdoor learning, and personal development to create an environment where young people feel motivated, supported, and able to thrive.

What We Stand For

  • Inclusion

Every student is welcomed, valued, and supported regardless of their background or needs.

  • Relationships

Strong, trusting relationships between staff and students are at the heart of everything we do.

  • Achievement

We celebrate every step forward — from turning up to earning a nationally recognised qualification.

  • Wellbeing

Emotional safety and mental health are as important to us as academic progress.

Our Approach

🎯

Personalised Learning

Every pupil follows a timetable built around their individual needs, interests, and goals. No two programmes are the same.

🏃

Sport & Outdoor Learning

Physical activity develops teamwork, leadership, resilience, and emotional regulation — skills that last a lifetime.

👥

Small Groups & 1:1

Smaller settings allow staff to build genuine relationships and provide the consistent support students need to thrive.

📜

Accredited Qualifications

Students achieve nationally recognised awards through ASDAN and other accredited programmes, building confidence and future prospects.
